Mountain Bikes
Jamie has spent a good part of the day looking up Mountain bikes. They seem so expensive, and we may not even like doing it. I think I like the idea of using our (free) old bikes and seeing if we like it, or are even good at it. Hopefully no one will laugh at our old, ugly bikes. :-)
Lets Begin
I started this blog to share the adventures that Jamie and I have in the outdoors. We enjoy a lot of camping, hiking, backpacking and even starting some biking. This weekend we spent doing activities outdoors.
Saturday 10/9 -- we went on a hike with CHOA to South Mountain. We hiked 8.5 miles and we both did really well. We saw the waterfall up there, but we had seen it before. We did much better on that hike that we did the last few times we went hiking up there. It was fun to chat and meet new people. We took the dog with us, he did well hiking, but he struggles socializing with the other dogs on the trail.
Sunday 10/10 -- After church Jamie and I tried out the bikes my grandmother gave us. We drove them down to Gardner-Webb parking lot and biked out to the Broad River greenway. Only about 5.5 miles, but it was our first trip so we did okay. We didn't do well on the Greenway trails, as they were covered in sand and we do not know how to Mountain Bike in sand.
Today Jamie went and got his bike a tune up. He will get mine tuned up next (sort of waiting to see how much it would cost...). We knew our bikes weren't amazing mountain bikes, but we are hoping they will work for some beginning mountain biking classes that CHOA offers.
